The Lions Club

The Flatlands Lions have been serving the Brooklyn-Queens area since 1958.  We are a fraternal organization, a member of the Lions Clubs International, the largest volunteer service organization in the world.  Our club belongs to District 20-K1, which comprises Brooklyn and Queens.  Although we are a member club, we have our own separate 501(c)(3) tax exempt status as a non-profit charity.  Our officers are elected and serve on an annual basis.

We are a community based organization, with a membership that has strong civic ties.  Our members comprise many backgrounds: education, big and small businesses, medical and health related fields, transportation and many more. We unite our diverse perspectives into a common endeavor – to help those who are less fortunate: “We Serve.”   We meet twice a month and we run several committees and fund raising events during the year.
